Donia Mahmoud Joins VertiCairo As Research Assistant

Donia Essam is an Agricultural Engineer (Ain Shams University) who anchors VertiCairo’s research and operations across hydroponic and aquaponic systems. Her work spans the full experimental cycle: drafting clear protocols, preparing nutrient solutions, calibrating instruments, defining sampling plans, and maintaining rigorous data logs. Donia translates measurements into practical adjustments—refining planting density, dialing in feed and nutrient schedules, and tightening sanitation and system-hygiene routines so results are repeatable, not just promising. She reports to VertiCairo’s Chief Science Officer, Moustafa Sherif.

In day-to-day operations, Donia builds and maintains SOPs, runs side-by-side trials to compare methods, and performs data QA to keep findings clean and decision-ready. She collaborates closely with our biology team to connect observations (growth rates, root health, water quality) with actionable changes on the floor. Comfortable working in English and Arabic, she turns field notes and spreadsheets into concise reports that inform weekly planning and longer-term improvements. Above all, Donia’s approach is meticulous and applied—science that strengthens plant vigor, system stability, and consistent output.
