A New Collaboration: Artist Hoda Hassanein x VertiCairo

VertiCairo is proud to present a special collaboration with Egyptian artist and scholar Hoda Ali Hassanein. Born in 1958, Hoda holds both her B.A. and M.A. in English and Comparative Literature from the American University in Cairo. Her creative work bridges language, philosophy, and visual expression.

In The Agricultural Vortex, her latest piece for VertiCairo, Hoda explores the deep relationship between humanity and the land. Through collage, calligraphy, and layered symbolism, the mural traces the evolution of agriculture—from ancient rituals to modern vertical farming.

Best known for her work with Arabic calligraphy, Hoda brings a unique perspective to this collaboration—one shaped by her background in comparative poetics, philosophy, and translation. More to come soon. This is not just a mural—it’s a story worth standing in front of.

Art and agriculture come together with Hoda Hassanein and VertiCairo. Hoda’s Agricultural Vortex, explores the history of farming in a dynamic, layered composition that draws the viewer in—much like the natural cycles of growth and renewal. This mural isn’t just a visual statement; it’s a conversation between past and future, tradition and innovation. Hoda’s work brings a new dimension to the space, reminding us that agriculture is not just about food—it’s about culture, history, and progress.
